Details: Ring in the New Year with fresh knowledge of the variety of sparkling wines made throughout the world and available at your local wine shop. The Culinary Institute of America (CIA) at Greystone hosts “Battle of the Bubbles! Beyond the Holiday Toast”, a class open to the public. Students will taste Champagne, Prosecco, Cava, Crémant and Sekt. In addition to comparing and learning about the different styles students will:
• Learn what professionals look for when evaluating a glass of bubbles
• Blind taste sparkling wines from all over the world and learn to distinguish where the wines were made
• Receive food pairing tips and ideas to enjoy sparkling wine beyond the New Year toast
• Meet fellow sparkling wine lovers and prepare to launch the New Year with cheer
This class is open to non-professionals and will be held in the CIA’s state-of-the-art Rudd Center for Professional Wine Studies and will be led by CIA Sommelier, Traci Dutton.
